Injustice is prevalent everywhere in society. Stereotypes, based on things people simply have no control over, harm individuals and groups from a micro to a macro level. The purpose of this blog is to educate, so that we can work together to eradicate prejudice.

On Thursday, November 21, 2013, The College of New Jersey's Women's & Gender Studies students will be hosting the Feminist Forum from 11-1 PM in the Student Center. The purpose of this forum is to bring to light various feminist issues that you may, or may not be aware of. Our project is "We the People." We, as Americans, believe we have a sense of national identity. This, however, could not be more false. Ask yourself, what is an American? What does an American look like? If multiple images pass through your brain, it is because there is no one single example of what an American is. However, stereotypes surrounding different ethnicities within this country are harmful to different groups of people. Our goal is to bring to light the fact that we do not, in fact, live in a post-racial society, and that segregation and inequality are still very rampant in today's world. We want to inspire you to combat racism, sexism, and any other -ism you can think of to make the United States a more inclusive society.
